Intro to Lego Mindstorms EV3™ Robotics/Programming
9:00 am - 3 pm
This is an Introduction to the new Lego Mindstorms™ EV3™ - the newest Lego Robot system! Campers will learn about robots, building and how to make things move. We will build a basic robot and then learn good engineering and building practices to make a more structurally sound robot. We will begin with basic programming for forward, backward and turning movement. Each day we will build on this basic knowledge and add the use of sensor input using light sensors, touch sensors and ultrasonic sensors to improve the robot performance. Each day campers will be challenged to apply what they have learned with mini-challenges that will culminate with the Grand Challenge on Friday afternoon! Families are welcome and encouraged to attend on Friday to see the Cool Robots in action!
Campers will share a robot and laptop with one other camper. We limit the size of the camp to 20 participants and maintain a Camper/Teacher ratio of 10:1.
Camps are from 9am - 3pm.
Campers bring a morning and afternoon snack, water bottle, and lunch each day.
Friday is pizza day and $5 for those who wish to participate.
